Cannabis: Professor Raphael Mechoulam - The discovery in 1964 of THC, anandamide in 1992

Raphael Mechoulam is an Israeli professor of medicinal chemistry and natural products chemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. While working in research at the Weizmann Institute of Science in 1964 succeeded Michoulam isolation, structure elucidation and total synthesis of D9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the main active ingredient of cannabis. This video describes what the THC in the brain, but also touches on the 1992 discovery of anandamide, which is also known as N-arachidonoylethanolamine or PACthat endogenous cannabinoid neurotransmitter in human organs.
